A Modern Take on the Oldest Profession: Sex Work Literacy in Your Office
AASECT Member Training
This cultural competency and cultural humility workshop was developed by sex workers for professional helpers and educators to better understand sex work, sex workers, and how those in the helping profession can provide better care and services for sex working clients. This workshop centers on lived experience, intersectionality, and self-determination. In this workshop, you will learn categories of sex work, its legal implications, and how other identities may intersect with those who engage in sex work.

Virtual Community Healing in Response to Club Violence
In the aftermath of the violent stabbing attack at Shotgun Willie’s, we will be hosting a therapist-led group healing event for entertainers. We will address the collective trauma of the event and process the incident with each other’s support.
This is a SWer exclusive event, though we understand that this tragic attack affected the club’s staff. Our hearts go out to the everyone affected and especially the family of Andrew Todis for their loss. We believe everyone is deserving of opportunities to heal and are happy to suggest resources to staff who are interested.

S.Workshop
A creative writing workshop offered for erotic laborers in all parts of the industry.
Sex workers have been a peripheral mainstay of visual art and literature for a long time; hypervisible, and often reduced to tropes, their stories have been erased from discussion, and academic and poetic circles shy away from directly addressing sexual labor as legitimate. In this workshop, participants will examine their relationship with censorship and erotic labor through reading, writing, and group discussion. Participants will examine personal and societal stigmas and biases. Readings will primarily be those written from the point of view of sex workers and include some theoretical and historical material.
About the Workshop Leader:
Emily Marie Passos Duffy is a poet, teacher, and ecdysiast. Her written work has been published in Boulder Weekly, Portland Review, Cigar City Poetry Journal, Spit Poet Zine, and Iron Horse Literary Review. She is a contributing member of The Daily Camera's Editorial Advisory Board and a 2020 artist-in-residence at Boulder Creative Collective. Her ongoing community collaborations include work with Tart Parlor, Writers Warehouse, and Boulder Burlesque. She received her MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics from Naropa University in 2018, and she presently teaches in the English Department at Red Rocks Community College.
